Las Vegas Personal Injury Attorneys

The Nevada Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into a fatal rollover accident on Wednesday on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The accident occurred near the I-215 interchange, and involved a car and a pickup truck. Apparently, the pickup truck collided with the Chevrolet which was traveling south on the road. The impact caused the truck to flip over.  A female passenger in the car was killed in the accident. A man in the pickup truck and two people in the car, were also injured.

Nevada Highway Patrol officers say that there is some indication that one of the two drivers ran a red light, but so far, it is not clear which vehicle it was.  At this point, Highway Patrol Officers don’t believe that alcohol or drug use were a factor here.

Failure to observe traffic rules can be the basis for a civil action in an auto accident in Nevada. Negligent driving or failing to observe traffic rules is a major factor in accidents every year, but doesn’t receive the kind of attention that drunk driving crashes or more recently, distracted driving–related accidents do.

In fact, every year, thousands of people are killed in accidents, caused not because the motorist in question was intoxicated or texting on his cell phone, but because he or she couldn’t be bothered to stop at a red light, or keep equal distance from the vehicle in front.  Other accidents are caused by a momentary lack of attention to the road resulting in the car veering from its lane, tailgating, making wrong turns etc.

In some kind of negligent driving-related accidents, it may be relatively easy for a Las Vegas accident lawyer to prove that the accident was caused by the other driver. For instance, in a rear ending accident, the motorist who was tailgating can be held liable.   Red light violations may be proved through witness accounts, and crash investigations.
